What is meditation?
Meditation is a practice which helps one to become aware and present in each moment - with the opportunity to see yourself and the world around you with new eyes.
There are many styles, practices and lineages of meditation techniques. Meditation techniques can vary from movement, drawing, sounds, objects, thoughts, mantras, visualizations and focusing on the breath.
Most of us have busy minds and find it hard to sit still. Observing our thoughts and patterns can be challenging. Meditation helps to free one's mind from mental anxiety, stress, worry doubt and suffering.
What are the benefits?
Meditation helps to calm and center reaction based mind sets and patterns. With perseverance and practice, one can help see the struggles and limitations that the mind can create.
What to expect in a session
I teach Self Inquiry which is based on the Hridaya Yoga Method, the practice of the spiritual heart. Other styles and practices that I teach are practices including Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) and Pranayama (breath control).
Once we start with simple breathing techniques, and learn to focus our minds in a one pointed direction, the practice will naturally start to develop.
Private sessions can be booked to design a personal practice for you that is achievable.
